About the RoleThe Data Architect position is a senior-level role responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing the data infrastructure that powers advanced analytics and business intelligence for a leading PropTech organization in Riyadh, KSA. This role focuses on creating scalable, secure, and high-performance data systems tailored to the unique needs of the real estate technology sector. The Data Architect will play a pivotal role in shaping the firm's data strategy, ensuring data integrity, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain comprehensive data architecture frameworks, including data models, metadata standards, and data integration strategies, to support business operations and analytics initiatives.Design, implement, and optimize data warehouses, data lakes, and other storage solutions to ensure efficient data retrieval, scalability, and security.Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analytics teams to translate business requirements into robust data solutions that drive actionable insights.Establish and enforce data governance policies, data quality standards, and best practices for data management, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.Lead the integration of diverse data sources, including property management systems, IoT devices, CRM platforms, and external real estate data feeds, into a unified data ecosystem.Oversee the selection and implementation of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools, ensuring reliable and timely data movement across systems.Monitor and optimize data pipelines for performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness, proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks.Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineering and analytics teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.Document data architecture designs, data flow diagrams, and technical specifications to facilitate knowledge sharing and system maintenance.Stay abreast of emerging data technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes relevant to the PropTech and real estate sectors.Required Experience & SkillsExtensive experience (typically 7+ years) in data architecture, data engineering, or related roles, with a proven track record of designing and managing large-scale data systems.Advanced proficiency in data modeling (conceptual, logical, and physical), database design, and data warehousing concepts.Deep knowledge of relational and non-relational database technologies such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra.Hands-on experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Azure Synapse) and on-premises data solutions.Expertise in ETL tools and frameworks (e.g., Apache Airflow, Talend, Informatica) and data integration best practices.Strong understanding of data governance, data security, privacy regulations (including local KSA data laws), and compliance frameworks.Proficiency in scripting and programming languages commonly used in data engineering, such as Python, SQL, and Scala.Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and real-time data streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka).Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Experience working in the PropTech, real estate, or related industries is highly advantageous.QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Data Analytics, Google Professional Data Engineer, or similar credentials are preferred.Demonstrated experience in leading data architecture projects from inception to deployment.Strong portfolio of implemented data solutions in enterprise environments.Tools & TechnologiesDatabase Systems: SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, CassandraCloud Platforms: AWS (Redshift, S3, Glue), Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Dataflow), Microsoft Azure (Synapse, Data Lake)ETL & Data Integration: Apache Airflow, Talend, Informatica, SSISBig Data & Streaming: Hadoop, Apache Spark, Apache KafkaProgramming & Scripting: Python, SQL, ScalaData Modeling: ER/Studio, dbt, ERwinBI & Analytics: Power BI, Tableau, LookerDevOps & CI/CD: Git, Jenkins, Docker, KubernetesData Governance: Collibra, Alation, custom frameworks This role offers the opportunity to architect and influence the data backbone of a rapidly growing proptech firm, directly impacting the efficiency and intelligence of real estate operations in Riyadh.
