Senior Accountant – Odoo Specialist

About the Role :

We are seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Senior Accountant who will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations using Odoo ERP, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and process improvement. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting expertise in a distribution or medical supply environment, along with proven experience in Odoo implementation, customization, and daily use.

Key Responsibilities :

Financial Management & Reporting

Manage end-to-end accounting processes using Odoo ERP (GL, AP, AR, banking, inventory, and COA maintenance).

Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with Egyptian accounting standards.

Perform month-end and year-end closing activities within Odoo.

Generate financial and management reports from Odoo for decision-making support.

Odoo System Administration & Optimization

Serve as the key Odoo power user for the finance and operations teams.

Customize Odoo modules (Accounting, Inventory, Sales, Purchase) to fit business needs.

Troubleshoot Odoo-related issues and liaise with Odoo partners or IT for system enhancements.

Train and support team members in using Odoo efficiently.

Compliance & Auditing

Ensure compliance with Egyptian tax regulations (VAT, WHT, income tax) using Odoo’s tax modules.

Coordinate with external auditors and provide required documentation from Odoo.

Maintain strong internal controls and ensure data integrity within the system.

Operations Support

Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow through Odoo banking modules.

Manage inventory costing, COGS, and intercompany transactions within Odoo.

Support procurement and sales teams with financial insights and Odoo-based reporting.

Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis using Odoo’s analytical tools.

Team Leadership

Supervise junior accounting staff and ensure their proficiency in Odoo operations.

Streamline accounting workflows and improve automation within Odoo.

Requirements :

Must-Have

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a medical, pharmaceutical, or healthcare supply company.

Hands-on experience with Odoo ERP (implementation, customization, daily operation) in a similar industry.

Strong knowledge of Egyptian accounting standards and tax laws.

Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and financial reporting.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Fluent in Arabic and English.

Nice-to-Have

Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, CMA).

Experience with Odoo version 15 or higher.

Knowledge of inventory and cost accounting in a distribution environment.
