About Etijah

Youth and Development Consultancy Institute – Etijah is a non-profit organization specializing in developing, improving, and disseminating development methodologies in youth and community development.

Based in Cairo, Etijah’s primary concern is to create and tailor up-to-date and high-quality development methodologies, research tools, applicable practices of youth development, and training delivery models, to be able to qualify youth by providing them with the skills, know-how, and aptitudes, as well as contribute to building the capacity of governmental and non-governmental youth-serving organizations. Our role is to provide youth with direct access to unconditional participation by providing practical tools and models for developing community-wide initiatives.

Project Background

Sustain it project is implemented by Etijah in partnership with GIZ to strengthen the capacities of 11 NGOs in Assiut and Kafr El Sheikh to effectively contribute to climate change mitigation by implementing inclusive, community-led solid waste and circular economy initiatives. The project aims to enhance technical, financial, and institutional capabilities of partner NGOs while fostering collaboration with local authorities for sustainable environmental impact.

Objective of the Assignment

The objective of this assignment is to deliver high-quality photography, videography, and post-production services for Sustain It project activities, ensuring timely, professional, and ethically compliant visual outputs aligned with donor and partner visibility standards.

The assignment will run from February upon signature of the contract until May, with a possible extension, subject to project needs, and availability of funds.

Field Missions & Geographic Distribution

The Estimated Number Of Field Missions Is

  • Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate: Representing 70% of total project activities.
  • Assiut Governorate: Representing 20% of total project activities.
  • Cairo governorate: Representing 10% of total project activities.

Final schedules will be coordinated with the Sustain It team based on the approved project workplan.

Coordination & Flexibility

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility in scheduling and travel.
  • In case of emergencies, the service provider must appoint a qualified replacement without affecting deliverables or timelines.

Reporting & Supervision

The Service Provider Will Report To

  • Sustain It Communication Officer
  • Programme Manager

All deliverables are subject to review and approval prior to final acceptance.

Consent, Data Protection & Safeguarding

  • Written consent forms must be obtained from all individuals photographed or filmed.
  • Personal data must be handled confidentially and used exclusively for project purposes.
  • Special care must be applied when engaging with vulnerable groups, including children and marginalized communities.
  • Content must comply with humanitarian principles, ethical standards, and donor safeguarding policies.
  • No material may be produced or disseminated that could expose individuals or communities to harm, or risk.

Ownership & Usage Rights

All raw and edited materials produced under this assignment shall be the exclusive property of Etijah.

Etijah may use and share these materials, and grant usage rights to donors and implementing partners, without limitation, for communication, reporting, visibility, and archival purposes.

Key Components Of The Consultancy

  • Coverage of all project-related activities, events, interviews, and field visits.
  • Two cameras per site:
  • One camera dedicated to interviews and video footage.
  • One camera dedicated to still photography.
  • Flexibility to travel and operate in Assiut and Kafr El-Sheikh governorates.
  • Full coverage of the project closure event in Cairo.

Technical Requirements

  • Video recording in 4K quality.
  • Professional sound system, including microphones suitable for interviews.
  • Preferable availability of:
  • Lighting equipment
  • Drone
  • Stabilizers / gimbals

Required Qualifications And Expertise

  • Proven experience in videography and photography.
  • Previous experience in humanitarian or development projects is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality outputs under tight deadlines.

Key Deliverables

Deliverables & Quantities

Photography

  • Minimum of 50 edited photos per activity
  • Minimum of 100 edited photos per event, with a maximum of 300 photos per event
  • Photos must meet quality, branding, and visibility requirements.

Video Production

  • (1) documentary video:
  • Duration: 8–10 minutes
  • Subtitles: English
  • Includes development of a script and storyboard, to be submitted for approval prior to production
  • (19) short videos in total duration ranging from 3-5 minutes.
  • (1) short video per event
  • Full coverage of the project closure event

Post-Production & Editing

The Assignment Includes Full Post-production Services, Including

  • Video editing and color correction
  • Addition of:
  • English and Arabic subtitles
  • Lower thirds
  • Logos of donors and implementing partners
  • Voice-over and/or background music, where applicable

Delivery Timelines

  • Photos: Delivered on the same day of the activity or no later than the following day
  • Short videos: Delivered within three (3) days maximum after each event
  • All raw and edited materials: Submitted on a hard drive to the Sustain It Communication Officer

Payment Terms

  • The financial offer must be lump-sum, inclusive of:
  • Transportation
  • Accommodation
  • Equipment
  • Editing and post-production services
