Job description
The Role As Director of Data Science, you’ll lead the charge in building, scaling, and operationalizing advanced models that power pricing, forecasting, risk, and growth across our markets.
You’ll partner closely with leadership to transform data into smarter, faster decisions — shaping the future of car subscriptions in MENA.
What You’ll Be Doing Own and lead the applied data science roadmap — pricing, forecasting, risk, attribution, lead scoring, and supply allocation.
Ship models to production with tight experiment loops, and quantify impact on CM5%, utilization, CAC/LTV, and approvals/defaults.
Launch Dynamic Pricing v2 for short-term and monthly subscriptions, and build STO Risk Engine v1 to scale responsible growth.
Develop city/model-level demand & supply forecasts to optimize fleet utilization and procurement.
Set up experimentation frameworks — guardrails, sequential testing, unified performance definitions, and measurement cadence.
Build and lead a high-performing DS team across Dubai and Cairo, embedding pods into squads and ensuring best practices in model health and governance.
Partner with Data Engineering to strengthen MLOps — feature stores, model registry, CI/CD, and monitoring.
Codify model governance, documentation, and bias/fairness checks in line with SAMA expectations.
8–12+ years of experience in Data Science/ML, including 3+ years leading teams.
Proven track record of delivering pricing, forecasting, or risk models that drive measurable P&L impact.
Deep expertise in at least two areas: marketplace pricing, credit/risk, forecasting, marketing measurement, or ops optimization.
Strong in Python, SQL, MLflow (or similar), orchestration tools, and cloud platforms (GCP/AWS).
Product mindset — able to translate CM1–CM5 and business constraints into clear model objectives and experiments.
Exceptional collaboration skills — you work closely with Product, Growth, Finance, and Ops to deliver real business outcomes.
Nice to have: Experience in mobility, marketplace, or fintech industries; familiarity with BigQuery, dbt, real-time inference, and Arabic proficiency.
