Account Reconciliation:
• Perform daily, monthly, or quarterly reconciliations of financial accounts such as bank statements, credit card statements, or general ledger accounts.
• Ensure that all transactions match between the company’s records and external financial documents.
• Ensuring accurate transaction processing and identifying any anomalies. Discrepancy Investigation and Resolution:
• Identify and investigate any discrepancies, errors, or inconsistencies in accounts.
• Collaborate with other departments or external stakeholders to resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Financial Reporting:
• Prepare and maintain detailed reports of reconciled accounts, highlighting any discrepancies and resolutions.
• Assist with monthly financial closing by providing accurate reconciliation summaries.
• Managing and resolving payment issues post-reconciliation.
Process Improvement:
• Recommend and implement improvements to reconciliation processes for better efficiency and accuracy
• Ensure that all internal controls related to reconciliation processes are followed to maintain compliance and minimize errors.
System and Software Usage:
• Use financial management software and tools (e.g., Excel, accounting software) to perform reconciliations and document results.
• Ensure data integrity within the system and that all records are updated correctly.
Collaboration and Communication:
• Work closely with internal teams (e.g., finance, accounting, operations) to ensure smooth communication and resolution of any issues.
• Communicate effectively with auditors or external parties when necessary.
Audit Support:
• Assist in preparing for audits by providing necessary reconciliation documentation and supporting financial records.
• Work with auditors to resolve any issues related to account discrepancies.
Compliance:
• Ensure that all reconciliation activities are in compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
• Keep up to date with relevant industry regulations and best practices for financial reconciliations.
Qualifications
• Education: Typically, a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: Previous experience in accounting, finance, or reconciliation is usually preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. And accounting software is preferred
• Attention to Detail: Strong ability to identify discrepancies and resolve them accurately.
• Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical skills and the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Communication: Strong communication skills to interact with other departments, external parties, and auditors.
• Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Adaptability: Willingness to learn new processes, tools, and systems as needed.
