Job Description
Job Summary:
The Senior Landscape Architect will oversee the implementation of landscape works for an airport infrastructure project. The role requires hands-on site supervision, plant and material inspections, and coordination with contractors to ensure timely and high-quality execution. Prior experience in airport or transportation-related projects is essential to navigate the complexity, safety, and coordination challenges unique to airside and landside environments.
Key Responsibilities:
· Conduct inspection of plant materials at source nurseries to verify species, size, health, and appearance as per approved drawings and specifications.
· Review and approve hardscape materials, including paving, lighting fixtures, kerbs, and site furnishings; assess mock-up samples for conformance.
· Approve plant positioning and layout after contractor staking; ensure alignment with the design intent.
· Supervise all softscape and hardscape implementation on-site to ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards.
· Monitor contractor progress and report any delays or deviations to ensure timely project completion.
· Address and resolve daily site-related issues and coordination challenges in collaboration with other disciplines.
· Provide technical input and recommendations on design modifications and contract variations.
· Ensure compliance with safety, sustainability, and environmental guidelines during execution.
· Maintain documentation of site activities, inspections, approvals, and non-conformances.
Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors to uphold design integrity throughout the project lifecycle
Skills
Qualification &Skills:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Landscape Architecture (B. Arch or equivalent).
· Minimum 15-20 years of experience.
· Strong understanding of airport-specific design constraints including visibility, security, wind considerations, plant species restrictions, and durability.
· Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, and design review tools (SketchUp, Revit, etc.).
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interface with multiple contractors and regulatory bodies.
· Ability to work on-site under pressure and manage large-scale phased works.
