We are seeking a skilled and experienced WATSAN Technician to be based in Abyei-Sudan, preferably an Egyptian national, to join our team. The technician will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operation of water supply, wastewater treatment, and sanitation systems across multiple project sites, ensuring their continuous and efficient functionality. The ideal candidate must be capable of working in remote and challenging environments while maintaining high hygiene standards to support the health and well-being of all personnel on-site.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform regular maintenance and repairs on water supply systems, wastewater treatment plants, and sanitation facilities to ensure optimal performance.
• Install and commission new water and sanitation systems as required, ensuring they meet industry standards and project specifications.
• Diagnose and repair faults in water and sanitation systems, including pumps, pipes, filters, valves, and other related equipment.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of water and sanitation systems.
• Ensure all water and sanitation operations comply with health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
• Monitor water quality and sanitation standards, conducting tests and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and breakdowns in water and sanitation systems, providing effective solutions to restore services.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and system performance. Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible.
• Provide training and technical support to other staff members on the operation and maintenance of water and sanitation systems.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and assist in implementing changes to enhance system efficiency and reliability.
• Strong knowledge of water and sanitation systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair techniques.
• Proactive approach to diagnosing and resolving system issues, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
• Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple maintenance tasks, schedules, and records effectively.
• Clear and effective communication with team members, stakeholders, and suppliers.
• Flexibility to work in remote and challenging environments, addressing unforeseen issues efficiently.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• High school diploma with vocational training and trade certificate in a relevant field.
• Certified license in water and sanitation systems or related areas.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in a similar role, preferably in remote or challenging environments.
• Experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of water and sanitation systems.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance schedules and quality control procedures.
• Proven experience in troubleshooting and emergency response for WATSAN systems.
