Job Description

  • Lead the pre-construction phase: review design/architectural drawings, develop schedules and budgets, assist in subcontractor selection. 
  •   Manage overall project schedule and coordinate all phases of construction work on site, monitoring progress and adjusting plans as needed to meet milestones
  •   Control project budget: estimate costs, monitor expenditures, forecast and report variances, approve invoices and change orders. 
  •   Oversee procurement of materials, equipment, and labour: ensure timely delivery, correct quality and cost-effectiveness. 
  •  Manage subcontractors, suppliers and site workforce: contract administration, performance monitoring, scheduling of labour and trades. 
  •   Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning laws, safety regulations and company quality standards. Conduct site inspections and safety audits. 
  •   Monitor quality of construction work to ensure it matches drawings, specifications and standards; manage defects and remedial work. 
  •   Serve as liaison between client/owner, architects, engineers, contractors and internal teams; prepare regular progress reports and communicate risks/issues. 
  •   Perform risk assessment and mitigation: identify potential delays, cost overruns or quality issues and take corrective action. 
  •   Project close-out: ensure all inspections, certificates of occupancy, warranties, hand-over documentation, punch lists are completed

Job Requirements

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or related field.
  •  5+ years of construction management experience
  •  Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget and meeting quality/safety standards.
  •  Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, equipment and reading of drawings and technical specifications.
  •  Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills — ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and engage stakeholders
  •  Strong problem-solving, decision-making and risk-management capabilities.
  •  Good financial acumen: budgeting, cost control, forecasting. 
  •  Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing conditions
