b Summary:

The Testing & Commissioning Engineer is responsible for executing and supervising all testing and commissioning activities. The role ensures that all systems and equipment are tested, commissioned, and handed over according to project specifications, standards, and client requirements while maintaining safety and quality compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and perform testing and commissioning of HV substations (132kV / 220kV / 500kV) including GIS, transformers, switchgear, protection relays, control systems, and SCADA interfaces.
• Review project drawings, protection schemes, and test procedures before execution.
• Prepare detailed testing plans, method statements, and risk assessments for all T&C activities.
• Conduct primary and secondary injection tests, functional checks, interlock verifications, and system energization.
• Coordinate with design, construction, and client representatives to resolve technical issues during commissioning.
• Record and document all test results, prepare commissioning reports, and ensure proper sign-off from the client/consultant.
• Ensure adherence to company HSE policies and safe work practices during all site activities.
• Support troubleshooting, fault analysis, and technical evaluations during energization and handover.
• Provide technical support and training to junior engineers and technicians.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in testing and commissioning of HV Substations or transmission systems.
• Hands-on experience with protection relays (Siemens, ABB, Schneider, SEL, etc.) and test sets (OMICRON, MEGGER).
• Strong knowledge of substation automation systems, protection coordination, and control logic.
• Familiarity with IEC and IEEE standards for protection, control, and testing.
• Experience with GIS and AIS substations preferred.
• Excellent analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
