Job Description

  • Prepare, monitor, and update project cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts throughout all project phases.
  • Analyze project drawings, specifications, and related documents to determine accurate cost projections.
  • Track and report on project expenditures, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to ensure cost control measures are implemented effectively.
  • Evaluate contractor and supplier quotations to ensure alignment with project budgets and cost objectives.
  • Develop and maintain cost databases, historical records, and benchmarking data for future reference.
  • Assist in the preparation of tender documents, bills of quantities, and cost breakdowns for bids and proposals.
  • Conduct value engineering and risk analysis to optimize project costs without compromising quality or safety.
  • Prepare regular cost reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Support the financial close-out of projects, ensuring all costs are accounted for and reconciled.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
  • 2 to 5 years of proven experience in cost engineering or cost control within the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, project management, and cost estimation methodologies.
  • Proficiency in cost management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, contracts, and specifications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with local and international construction standards and regulations.
  • Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
