Job Description

Job Summary

The Refrigeration Engineer is responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial and commercial refrigeration and cooling systems to ensure efficient, safe, and continuous operation in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and repair refrigeration and cooling systems (chillers, cold rooms, freezers, Ammonia units).
• Monitor system performance and conduct preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system issues.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Handle refrigerants in accordance with environmental regulations.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and reports.
• Coordinate with contractors and suppliers for major repairs and installations.
• Support energy efficiency initiatives and cost-reduction projects.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Participate in commissioning of new refrigeration equipment and upgrades.
   

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration, or related field.
• Minimum 3–9 years of experience in refrigeration systems (industrial preferred).
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles, compressors, condensers, evaporators, and controls.
• Experience with ammonia, Freon, or CO₂ systems is an advantage.
• Familiarity with PLC controls and automation systems is a plus.
• Good understanding of safety procedures and environmental regulations.
