Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design electrical systems for water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including pumping stations, water treatment facilities, and pipelines.
- Ensure that electrical distribution systems, control panels, lighting, and power supply systems meet all project specifications, safety requirements, and performance criteria.
- Develop and manage the electrical design scope, budget, and schedule for each project.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, clients, and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met and designs are integrated seamlessly.
- Prepare detailed electrical design drawings, including single-line diagrams, control system layouts, wiring diagrams, and electrical load calculations.
- Ensure all designs are properly documented and maintained for future reference or updates.
- Develop technical specifications for electrical equipment and materials, ensuring compatibility with wet utility projects.
- Specify equipment such as generators, transformers, switchgear, and pumps in line with the project’s requirements.
- Ensure designs comply with local electrical codes, safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and industry standards.
- Keep up to date with evolving regulations and ensure the design process incorporates the latest best practices and innovations.
- Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions, identify potential design issues, and verify that installations are proceeding as per the design.
- Perform inspections of electrical systems and installations during and after construction to ensure compliance with specifications and resolve any technical issues.
- Oversee the testing and commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring they meet the required performance criteria and function effectively.
- Ensure proper documentation of tests, results, and any troubleshooting procedures performed during system setup.
