Job Description
Supervising the operation and maintenance of industrial refrigeration systems operating with ammonia and various types of chillers, ensuring their operational efficiency and safety in accordance with quality and occupational safety standards.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise the operation and maintenance of different types of chillers (Screw – Reciprocating – Absorption).
Carry out periodic and preventive maintenance for refrigeration systems and ammonia compressors.
Monitor pressure readings, temperatures, and oil levels, and adjust them according to the specified standards.
Inspect refrigeration and condensation circuits, detect faults, and repair them quickly and efficiently.
Prepare daily and periodic performance reports and analyze operational efficiency and energy consumption.
Ensure the implementation of safety instructions related to ammonia use and proper handling in cases of leakage or emergencies.
Supervise the technicians’ team, distribute tasks, and follow up on the accurate execution of work.
Review and correct piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID).
Contribute to the development and improvement of refrigeration systems and enhancing their operational efficiency.
Coordinate with other departments (Electrical – Operations – Production) to ensure workflow continuity without interruption.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineering from a governmental university.
Practical experience of not less than 10 years in industrial refrigeration using ammonia, chillers, cold storage, and freezing systems; experience in cooling tunnels is preferred.
Good knowledge of control systems (PLC / SCADA), preferably holding a course in industrial control or PLC.
Proficiency in reading technical drawings and execution diagrams.
Full knowledge of occupational safety standards related to ammonia handling.
Required Skills:
Strong skills in fault analysis and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of electrical basics and control in refrigeration systems.
Ability to lead and motivate a work team.
High accuracy in task execution and commitment to maintenance schedules.
Strong communication skills and the ability to prepare technical reports.
