Overview
The ERP Consultant (Accountant) is a role that combines financial expertise with technical proficiency in ERP systems.
This professional acts as a bridge between accounting operations and technology, ensuring seamless implementation, optimization, and support of ERP solutions. The role spans the entire ERP lifecycle, from demonstrating system capabilities to post-implementation support, with a focus on aligning financial processes with business goals.
Duties & Responsibilities
Demo Phase:
- Conduct ERP system demonstrations for clients, showcasing core accounting modules (GL, AP/AR, budgeting, reporting).
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand client-specific accounting workflows and pain points.
- Customize demo scenarios to align with client requirements (e.g., industry-specific compliance, multi-currency transactions).
- Prepare and present proof-of-concept (POC) solutions to highlight system capabilities.
- Document client feedback and translate it into actionable requirements for the implementation phase.
Implementation & Onboarding Phase:
- Lead ERP system configuration for accounting modules (e.g., chart of accounts, tax settings, approval workflows).
- Migrate and validate financial data (e.g., historical transactions, vendor/customer records) into the ERP system.
- Design and execute user training programs for finance teams, focusing on day-to-day operations (journal entries, reconciliations, reporting).
- Collaborate with IT and cross-functional teams to integrate ERP with existing tools (e.g., inventory).
- Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure system accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Support & Engagement Phase:
- Provide post-implementation support to resolve accounting-related system issues (e.g., reconciliation errors, reporting discrepancies).
- Monitor system performance and recommend upgrades/optimizations for financial modules.
- Develop and share knowledge base materials (FAQs, video tutorials) for ongoing user reference.
- Engage clients with periodic reviews to identify new needs (e.g., advanced reporting, automation).
- Foster long-term client relationships to drive adoption of additional ERP features.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience: 3+ years in accounting/finance.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in ERP accounting modules.
- Familiarity with accounting standards.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and client-facing abilities.
- Problem-solving agility.
