About the Project

This position is part of a major EPCC Gas Plant Project executed by one of the leading international oilfield services companies.

The project scope covers engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of a large-scale gas processing facility, in partnership with Petrojet as the project owner.

Job Purpose

To lead and supervise all instrumentation commissioning activities during the EPCC project phase, ensuring safe, timely, and efficient completion of the commissioning scope in accordance with project specifications, procedures, and international standards.

Key Responsibilities

Commissioning & Technical Execution

• Supervise field Instrument Technicians and manage daily instrumentation commissioning activities.
• Ensure all systems are installed, tested, and commissioned as per project specifications and CCMS (Completion Management System) requirements.
• Populate, verify, and update all instrumentation-related completion data; raise and resolve technical queries with the Engineering team when required.
• Review and approve Inspection Test Records (ITRs), Functional Test Records (FTRs), and related documentation.
• Prepare and validate Operational Test Procedures (OTPs) specific to instrumentation systems.
• Review vendor documents, including installation/commissioning procedures, spares, and O&M manuals.
• Witness and sign-off Construction and Pre-Commissioning activities in line with project standards.
• Participate in FATs (Factory Acceptance Tests) and SATs (Site Acceptance Tests) for all instrumentation systems.
• Coordinate with the Electrical and Mechanical teams to ensure full system integration during commissioning and start-up.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

• Lead by example in all aspects of HSE compliance and ensure safe execution of commissioning works.
• Maintain proper Permit to Work (PTW) control and Commissioning Controlled Areas (CCAs).
• Ensure all equipment energization and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures are strictly followed.
• Support Pre-Start-Up Safety Reviews (PSSR) before system handover to operations.

Coordination & Interface Management

• Liaise daily with the Construction, Operations, and Vendor teams to ensure alignment and efficient work progress.
• Interface closely with the Engineering and Procurement teams for timely resolution of technical issues and material availability.
• Coordinate with Petrojet (the owner) representatives for inspections, sign-offs, and milestone approvals.
• Manage all third-party vendors, subcontractors, and client representatives during commissioning.
• Prepare and hand over all final documentation to the Handover Coordinator in a timely manner.

Administrative & Planning Duties

• Report daily progress, challenges, and key milestones to the Commissioning Superintendent.
• Ensure proper record keeping, including timesheets, equipment lists, and tool inventories.
• Participate in risk assessments, failure investigations, and SIMOPS (Simultaneous Operations) meetings.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and compliance with the company’s HSE Management System (Quest).

Key Deliverables

• Completion and certification of all instrumentation systems within project timelines.
• Zero HSE incidents during commissioning.
• Full documentation and system handover to the Operations team.
• Compliance with all EPCC project standards and client (Petrojet) requirements.

Technical Competencies

• Expertise in Control Systems: DCS, ICSS, ESD, PSD, F&G
• Strong understanding of EPCC project workflows and commissioning processes
• Familiar with CCMS, PTW, LOTO, and international oil & gas commissioning standards

Project Duration & Location

• Duration: 1 Year (extendable based on project progress)
• Location: Egypt – Gas Plant Site (Petrojet Project)
