Role Summary

You will be the owner of core products of our client (Merchant Portal, QR Ordering Experience, KDS / kitchen screens, and POS integrations). You’ll translate restaurant operational needs into product features, prioritize what we build next, and work with engineering, design, and ops to ship high-quality features that increase order speed, reduce errors in the kitchen, and improve customer experience at the table. You are measured on adoption, reliability, order throughput, and merchant satisfaction — not just delivery of tickets.


Key Responsibilities

1. Product Vision & Roadmap

  • Define and communicate the product vision for ordering, payment, and kitchen operations.
  • Build and maintain a 3–6 month roadmap for QR menu, vendor app, POS sync, and KDS.
  • Align roadmap with revenue targets (merchant onboarding, upsell plans) and operational KPIs (fewer order mistakes, faster prep time).

2. Backlog Ownership

  • Convert business needs (e.g. “kitchen needs automatic order routing by station”) into clear user stories with acceptance criteria.
  • Prioritize the backlog based on impact to restaurants, cost to build, and urgency in production.
  • Keep requirements in Jira / Notion always clean, testable, and ready for sprint planning.

3. Restaurant & Merchant Discovery

  • Talk directly to restaurant owners, managers, and kitchen staff in the field to capture pain points around menu changes, item availability, delayed orders, and payment flow.
  • Turn that feedback into product improvements for the merchant app and KDS screens.
  • Validate new features quickly with pilots in live locations.

4. Delivery & Execution (Agile / Scrum)

  • Lead sprint planning and sprint reviews with engineering.
  • Clarify scope, unblock devs fast, and protect timelines.
  • Own “definition of done”: feature shipped, tested in a real venue, and documented for Support / Sales.

5. Launch & Adoption

  • Work with Ops / Success to onboard new restaurants to new features (e.g. new payment flow, new kitchen display layout).
  • Train internal teams on what changed and why it matters.
  • Support go-to-market messaging for pricing tiers and upsell packs.

6. Product Metrics & Quality

  • Define and track KPIs like:
  • Table-to-checkout time
  • Order error rate in kitchen (missing items / wrong items)
  • Uptime of ordering & KDS during peak hours
  • Merchant retention / churn
  • Use these KPIs to drive iteration, not guesswork.

7. Compliance, Stability & Scale

  • Ensure features are robust in real restaurant conditions: high rush-hour load, poor Wi-Fi, staff turnover, multilingual menus.
  • Raise and prioritize “must fix” reliability and performance issues from production.


Requirements (Must-Have)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years experience as a Product Owner / Product Manager in SaaS, B2B platform, POS, delivery, food-tech, fintech, or similar transactional/operations-heavy product.
  • Strong understanding of Agile / Scrum and backlog management.
  • You’ve written real user stories with acceptance criteria and seen them go live in production.
  • You’re comfortable working directly with engineers and directly with end users (restaurant / cashier / kitchen staff).
  • Ability to balance: what merchants want, what improves guest experience at the table, and what engineering can realistically deliver this sprint.
