Reporting To: Finance Manager / Head of Finance

Role Objective

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Senior General Accountant to join our finance team in Maadi. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of accounting activities, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with local regulations, and supporting the financial health of the organization. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.

📋 Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Reporting & Closing

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Egyptian Accounting Standards (EAS) and IFRS.
• Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Ensure timely submission of financial reports to management.

2. General Ledger & Accounts Management

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Oversee bank reconciliations and petty cash management.

3. Budgeting & Forecasting

• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
• Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.

4. Tax & Compliance

• Ensure timely filing of all tax returns (VAT, payroll tax, corporate tax, etc.).
• Stay updated on changes in Egyptian tax laws and financial regulations.
• Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits.

5. Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance internal controls.
• Implement best practices in financial management and reporting.

6. Team Support & Supervision

• Mentor and guide junior accounting staff.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial decision-making.

Qualifications & Skills

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CMA) is a strong plus.

Experience:

• 5–8+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a senior or supervisory role.
• Proven experience in full-cycle accounting and financial reporting.
• Background in multinational companies or large local firms is preferred.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Odoo, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong knowledge of Egyptian accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.

Soft Skills:

• Fluent in English (written and spoken) – MUST.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• High level of integrity and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
