Job Description
The QC Lead serves as the primary architect of the quality assurance ecosystem, bridging the gap between software development and quality control. Leveraging a software development background, the Lead is responsible for transforming traditional testing into a highly automated, "Shift-Left" engineering discipline.
Responsibilities
Define and execute a long-term testing strategy, transitioning the department from manual processes to a Developer-in-Test (SDET) model.
integrating unit testing and static analysis into the early stages of the SDLC to ensure code quality before it reaches the QA environment.
Leverage development expertise to architect, build, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for API, UI, and performance testing.
Oversee the creation of complex test scripts that align with both functional requirements and technical architecture, covering positive, negative, and regression scenarios.
Drive a "Zero-Error" mandate for batch and online interfaces, ensuring all production deployments meet rigorous quality gates and interface specifications.
Create scripts for automated generation of sanitized test data and ensure staging/UAT environments remain synchronized with production configurations.
Mentor and transition manual testers into automated testing roles by teaching coding best practices, version control (Git), and debugging techniques.
Conduct rigorous code reviews for automation scripts to ensure they meet the same standards as production-level code.
Act as the technical bridge between Product Owners, Developers, and external vendors to translate complex business requirements into testable technical specifications.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science
Core Competencies
At least 10 years of experience in functional and non-functional testing systems
At least 6years of experience in card and payments systems or banking involving multiple technology stacks.
Experience in working with large teams following Scrum practices. Proven expertise in leading QC for core payment platforms, including WAY4 CMS, Base24/Postilion switches, TIBCO middleware, and Falcon Fraud monitoring.
Advanced experience in validating complex settlement and reconciliation processes for incoming and outgoing financial files.
Expert knowledge of ISO 8583 (87/93) and ISO 20022 standards, including NDC/DDC protocols and message parsing.
Technical proficiency in validating Web Services and XML interfaces using tools like Postman and SoapUI to ensure seamless middleware integration.
Extensive experience managing ATM/POS terminal certifications and utilizing industry-standard simulators (MasterCard Simulator, Visa Simulator, FinSim).
Direct experience in leading Scheme Mandate testing and achieving certifications for major payment networks (Visa, MasterCard, etc.).
Expert in Testing Tools such as open-source testing tools such Postman and JMeter ,Soap UI, SolarTT, Auth simulators, API simulators, etc.
Specialized experience in Data Migration, mapping validation, and complex data integrity testing during system transitions
Expert at managing System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) across front-end, middleware, and back-office layers.
