Job Description

Job Summary:

The Unit Manager is responsible for leading a team of insurance advisors or agents to achieve sales targets, drive growth, and maintain a high standard of customer service. This role includes recruiting, training, mentoring, and monitoring performance while ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Recruitment & Development:
  • Recruit, interview, and onboard new insurance agents/advisors.
  • Provide continuous training and development programs.
  • Coach and mentor the team to improve productivity and skills.
  1. Sales Management:
  • Set sales goals and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly performance.
  • Implement effective sales strategies to achieve individual and team targets.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews.
  1. Operational Duties:
  • Ensure all agents comply with internal policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Manage reports on sales, lead conversion, and productivity metrics.
  • Coordinate with underwriting, claims, and customer service departments.
  1. Client Relationship & Business Development:
  • Support agents in client prospecting, presentations, and closing deals.
  • Promote cross-selling and upselling of insurance products.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key clients and resolve escalated issues.
  1. Performance Monitoring:
  • Analyze market trends and competition.
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Motivate the team to exceed expectations and handle underperformance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in sales or agency management.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Goal-oriented with a results-driven approach.
