The Hardware Manager will oversee the design, development, testing, and production of hardware systems within our R&D organization. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, and leadership to guide hardware teams in delivering innovative hardware solutions.


Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of hardware engineers, including PCB designers, electrical engineers, and HW validation team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration and raising the efficiency of the team.
  • Hardware Design and Development: Oversee the design and simulation, prototyping, and testing of hardware components, including circuit design, PCB layout, and system integration and also oversee the development tools and processes.
  • Technical Expertise: Define hardware technology roadmap. Provide guidance on hardware architecture, component selection, and system optimization to meet performance, cost, and reliability requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with software, firmware, and mechanical engineering teams to ensure hardware compatibility and system-level performance.
  • Testing and Validation: Contribute with the testing teams in advising testing protocols to validate hardware performance, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Innovation and Research: Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to drive continuous improvement in hardware development processes.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of designs, processes, and project progress, providing regular updates to senior leadership.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure all hardware designs comply with relevant regulatory standards (e.g., IEC, FCC, CE, UL) and industry best practices.



Qualifications


Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Communication Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in hardware design and development, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Proven track record of managing complex hardware projects from concept to production.
  • Experience with PCB design tools (e.g., Altium, Eagle), simulation software, and hardware testing methodologies.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, power supply circuits, microcontrollers, and embedded systems.
  • Familiarity with high-speed design, signal integrity, and power management.
  • Strong knowledge of EMC problems and design recommendations for EMC.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, DFM (Design for Manufacturability), and DFT (Design for testability).

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor engineers.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience in Agile or similar methodologies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of firmware development or software-hardware integration.
  • Knowledge of wired and wireless communication system.
  • Hands on design of communication systems is a big plus.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance and certification processes.
