Project & Development Services - MENA

JLL Project & Development Services (P&DS) MENA provides consulting, design, management and build services to tenant and owners, leveraging technology and digital solutions to drive outstanding service delivery.

We bring a life-cycle perspective to our clients, from development solutions to our core services in programme, project and cost management and consulting in digital solutions, tenancy management, sustainability, leisure & entertainment, and workplace & design.

The Role

The Senior Contracts Manager will be responsible for providing expert contractual advice and support to the PDS team in Egypt. This role involves managing all contract-related matters for construction and development projects, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, handling claims and variations, and safeguarding client interests throughout the project lifecycle.

What This Job Involves

  • Advising on contract administration to the project and cost management delivery teams.
  • Managing and advising on the contractual obligations of project parties.
  • Analyzing and preparing assessments for potential claims.
  • Monitoring contract performance and compliance in accordance with project plans.
  • Preparing claim responses and variation orders.
  • Negotiating claims with project parties.
  • Providing advice regarding interpretation of contract terms and conditions.
  • Preparing contractual notices as appropriate.
  • Creating contract analysis reports highlighting concerns and risks to be considered.
  • Preparing responses to all contractual correspondences
  • Maintaining comprehensive records of all contracts.
  • Issuing contractual notices and drafting variation instructions/orders.
  • Liaising with clients on all contractual aspects.
  • Reviewing the contractual merit of change requests and contractor notices.
  • Reviewing contractors' claims for legitimacy and contractual compliance.
  • Drafting contract amendments as requested.
  • Ensuring fulfillment of contractual obligations and identifying events where client rights need protection.
  • Managing effective communication across all functions regarding their duties in cost and schedule execution.
  • Leading and coaching team members to improve performance and ensure proper execution of responsibilities.

Desired Skills And Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in contract management.
  • Good command and knowledge of standard forms of contracts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with fluent proficiency in English and Arabic.
  • PMC (Project Management Consultancy) experience is highly advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to use a clear, systematic approach to solving complex issues.
  • Strong communication skills to present solutions in an effective, efficient manner.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple stakeholders and build relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Collaborative approach for working effectively in multidisciplinary team environments.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
