We are looking for a disciplined, reliable, and research-minded intern to support our work in Islamic studies, contemporary fiqh applications, and digital knowledge projects.

This role is fully remote and suitable for someone who already knows how to do Islamic academic research and wants to work on real projects (comparative tafsir, fiqh of minorities, Islamic digital content, AI x Islamic knowledge, etc.).

• you have not done Islamic research for at least 1 year (university, institute, research center, or supervised work),
• you only want to “learn” or “explore” Islam,
• you cannot provide samples of your previous research work.

We need someone who can start producing from day 1.

✅ What you will do

• Support ongoing research in Qur’anic studies, tafsir, usul al-fiqh, and contemporary issues
• Summarize and compare classical and modern sources
• Help structure content for digital/AI tools
• Document sources in a clear, academic way (footnotes, references)
• Work with a multicultural, fully remote team

✅ Requirements

• Minimum 1 year actual experience in Islamic research (not just reading)
• Ability to work with classical Arabic sources
• Good written English and/or Arabic
• Reliable internet + ability to meet deadlines
• Self-managed, discreet, and professional

💡 Nice to have

• Familiarity with: al-Maktaba al-Shamela, Mawsu‘a, al-Jami‘, Zotero, or similar
• Experience in Islamic economics / governance / modern fatwa councils
• Experience turning scholarly work into public-facing content
