Role Description

The On-Site Support Engineer for Data Visualization Software is a full-time position based in Kuwait City. Primary responsibilities include providing technical support, managing installations, troubleshooting, and maintaining data visualization software for clients. The role involves working directly with clients on-site to resolve software issues, ensuring optimal software functionality, and offering training and guidance as needed. The engineer will collaborate with internal teams to enhance service quality.

i.Conduct Site survey prior to software installation/ upgrade to verify the suitability of hardware, operating system and resources used by the end user, for the proper performance of the software.

ii.Troubleshooting, restoration/ re-installation, support, or any other tasks assigned by the Superintendent for all software in of this contract or other contracts under the handling Team.

iii.Logging of Software related information (i.e. security keys, license number, software version and the like) in Company’s Software Inventory Database.

iv.Logging of user related information (i.e. user name, location, extension, asset and the like) for whom the software license has been installed, in Company’s “Software Inventory Database”.

v.Integrating the newly acquired software or new software releases/upgrades with the existing system, working with Software licensors if necessary to define Software configuration parameters.

vi.Verifying newly installed software products for predetermined functionality and run acceptance test where required.

vii.Preparation of software quick reference documents for distribution to concerned end users.

viii.Liaising with other IT teams’ personnel and other Contractors as advised by the Superintendent to set up and configure the software and resolve any problems.

ix.Diagnosing and resolving software problems in coordination with software licensors with all necessary solution details in Company’s “Help Desk Database Support Magic” or any other System as specified by the Company.

x.Diagnosing and resolving plotting problems. Configuring newly acquired or relocated peripherals in the plotting environment.

xi.Assisting users in data transfer between applications.

xii.Assisting users in projects creation, archival and retrieval.

xiii.Providing technical and managerial knowledge, advice, assistance, on-job training and support

Services to Company and facilitate technology usage by Company in areas of expertise.

xiv.Providing utilization report in the form of charts and monthly summary report and advise the Superintendent about unused software.

xv.Any other task requested by the Company within the scope of this Contract.

Qualifications

i. Bachelor of Computer Science or Computingor Software Engineering / Engineering or equivalent

ii. Microsoft / UNIX / Linux background.

iii. Minimum of Six (6) years’ experience in data visualization Software support services.

iv. Capable of analyzing and diagnosing Software problems expeditiously.

v. Fluent in English and preferably know Arabic as well.

vi. Possess the skills of report writing, effective communication, conducting presentations and training.

vii. Good interpersonal skills and an amicable disposition.
