About the role:
As Brand Design Lead, you are responsible for overseeing and developing Suunto’s visual identity, ensuring consistency and creativity across all marketing channels and touchpoints. You ensure the visual identity supports Suunto’s business objectives and resonates with its global audience. You lead and collaborate with internal and external designers to deliver compelling, cohesive brand experiences aligned with the company’s strategy and style guide.
Key activities for the role:
- Lead Suunto’s visual identity and guidelines across all channels.
- Design marketing materials and create visual concepts, templates, and tools for marketing executions.
- Lead and coach the Brand Design Center in China and collaborate with external creative partners.
- Partner with internal teams to translate business needs into impactful design solutions.
- Oversee Brand Design Center priorities to ensure on-time delivery of assets and key deliverables.
- Provide design guidance and support to marketing teams globally.
- Monitor design trends in the outdoor market and translate insights into actionable guidelines.
- Conduct and apply user reseach and feedback to make informed design decisions.
- Ensure brand consistency and quality across all touchpoints.
You should have the following qualifications and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in leading brand design and design teams.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in brand identity development and visual design.
- Proficiency in design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Figma, After Effects).
- Experience with print, digital, and video content.
- Proven leadership skills and ability to mentor designers.
- Strong project management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Fluent written and spoken English; Chinese language skills are a big plus
Considered an asset:
- Experience in international organizations, preferably in consumer electronics or outdoor industry.
- Understanding of outdoor sports watch market and use cases.
- Familiarity with AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance content creation.
- Commercial mindset and data-driven approach to design performance.
