FPGA Engineer - Wireless Communications

Location: Abu Dhabi (Relocation Required)


Are you ready to work on advanced FPGA-based communication systems at the cutting edge of wireless and signal processing technology? This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-calibre engineering team developing baseband and waveform solutions for next-generation communication platforms.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop FPGA specifications and architectures from high-level block diagrams and system requirements
  • Design, implement, and integrate FPGA solutions with custom hardware platforms
  • Support system integration, qualification, and validation activities
  • Lead FPGA system design, debugging, and bring-up in both lab and field environments
  • Design and implement SoC FPGA solutions using embedded ARM processors (e.g. Xilinx Zynq / Zynq UltraScale)
  • Work with high-speed interfaces including DDR, JESD, Ethernet (1G), and AXI buses
  • Contribute to baseband processing, communication waveforms, IP interfaces, and high-speed interconnects
  • Support transition from development to manufacturing


What Were Looking For

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in FPGA design within wireless or communication systems
  • Proficiency in VHDL, Verilog, and/or SystemVerilog, with working knowledge of C++
  • Experience using Python or MATLAB for algorithm development, validation, or scripting
  • Solid understanding of DSP algorithms and their FPGA implementation
  • Experience with HDL verification, test bench development, and regression testing
  • Strong knowledge of FPGA architecture, optimization techniques, and timing closure
  • Hands-on experience with FPGA debugging tools, logic analyzers, and chip scopes
  • Experience bringing up and debugging custom FPGA-based PCB designs
  • Comfortable working in distributed, multi-cultural engineering teams
