This course introduces the fundamentals of quantum physics, one of the most important fields in modern science. Quantum mechanics explains how matter and energy behave at extremely small scales, such as atoms, electrons, and subatomic particles. Unlike classical physics, quantum theory describes the universe using probabilities and wave behavior rather than predictable paths.
The lecture begins with an overview of the core principles of quantum mechanics and how scientists discovered that particles can behave like waves. Learners will explore the concept of wave–particle duality, which shows that particles such as electrons and photons can exhibit both wave-like and particle-like properties.
The course also explains the uncertainty principle, which states that certain properties of a particle, such as position and momentum, cannot both be measured precisely at the same time. Students will also learn about quantum states, probability waves, and how energy levels exist in discrete values within atoms.
