Job Description

Job Purpose

The Network & Security Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining the organization’s network and security infrastructure. The role ensures high availability, performance, and protection of IT systems across a multi-site enterprise environment, while proactively managing risks, incidents, and security threats.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Network Design & Operations

• Design, implement, and manage secure and scalable network infrastructures across multiple sites.
• Monitor and proactively manage network performance to ensure required uptime and availability.
• Analyze bandwidth requirements and system interdependencies to support effective capacity planning.
• Recommend and implement network design improvements to enhance performance and reliability.
• Support VoIP systems and ensure optimal QoS for voice traffic.

Network Security Management

• Manage and administer network-based security solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, and perimeter security controls.
• Implement and enforce security procedures, access controls, and change management practices.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing coordination, and risk mitigation activities.
• Work with security technologies such as:
• DLP (Data Loss Prevention)
• EDR (Endpoint Detection & Response)
• Vulnerability Management tools
• SIEM solutions
• UTM solutions from various vendors

Job Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field.

Experience

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in network and security engineering within an enterprise environment.
• Proven experience managing complex, multi-site network infrastructures.

Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with:
• Network design and troubleshooting
• Firewalls, VPNs, and perimeter security
• SIEM, DLP, EDR, and vulnerability management tools
• UTM solutions from different vendors
• Solid understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, and QoS.
• Experience supporting VoIP systems.
• Knowledge of disaster recovery and business continuity practices.

Certifications (Preferred)

• CCNA / CCNP
• Security+ / CEH
• Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco Security, or similar certifications are a plus.
