Facilities Manager Job Description
Position Overview:
The Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, safety, and functionality of an organization’s buildings and facilities. They ensure that the physical environment supports the company's operations efficiently and effectively, maintaining a safe, clean, and well-maintained workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of facilities, including maintenance, cleaning, security, and safety.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules for all equipment, systems, and infrastructure.
- Coordinate repairs and upgrades to building systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Manage facilities staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and resolve issues proactively.
- Liaise with vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure quality service delivery.
- Implement sustainability initiatives to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Facilities Manager or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of building management, safety regulations, and maintenance procedures.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
