Essential Functions/Core Responsibilities
Scheduling and dispatching of the drivers and maintaining a list of “on call” and "ready" drivers is mandatory 24 hours a day/7 days a week. Ensure all runs for the next day are accounted for
Monitor runs throughout the day, ensure drivers arrive in proper time for their runs, and enforce the use of radio codes when the drivers are on the road. Drivers must check in when they arrive to ensure they arrive to work on time, as well as when they arrive to the pick up and drop off locations
Oversee unusual activity and ensure that it is noted in the Operations daily activity book (e.g., late runs, no shows, vehicle breakdowns)
Supervise transport help desk
Complete the employee activity report when applicable
Familiarize yourself of the entire transport fleet with a thorough knowledge of all functions of all vehicles is a must
Transport fleet maintenance, vendor management and transport security
Ensuring the cleanliness and orderliness of the entire facility
Candidate Profile
Bachelors Degree in related field from a four-year college or university with two to four years of relevant experience preferred
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to foster a sense of professionalism and relationship building for self and team
Demonstrated ability to lead team in multi-tasking, prioritization, and meeting timelines on deliverable
Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and provide direction to a team of employees
Strong attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Bachelors Degree in related field from a four-year college or university with a minimum of seven (with at least two years of Progressive Management experience) years of relevant experience preferred
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to effectively present information to internal and external associates
Proven ability to lead and organize multi-disciplinary projects and initiatives in fast-paced and deadline-oriented business environment
Demonstrated ability to lead strategy behind mentoring, coach, and provide direction to a team of employees
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership with focus on continuous improvement
Solid understanding of the organizations business operations and industry. Demonstrated business acumen
Demonstrated ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret.
