Job Description

About Joe & The Juice

Joe & The Juice is a rapidly expanding international juice bar and coffee concept, known for its healthy options, high-energy atmosphere, and distinctive brand identity. We are thrilled to be launching our operations in Egypt, starting with key locations in Cairo and Giza. This role is foundational to our success, ensuring the quality and timely supply of all ingredients and materials needed to deliver the signature Joe & The Juice experience.

Role Summary

The Supply Chain Manager will be the founding leader of the Supply Chain department in Egypt. This highly strategic and hands-on role is responsible for establishing the entire supply chain infrastructure from the ground up, with a paramount focus on local procurement and purchasing of all raw materials, packaging, and equipment. The immediate and main milestone will be securing the supply base to successfully launch the brand's first locations on time and to global brand standards, followed by meticulous operational control.

Key Responsibilities & Milestones

Strategic Procurement & Supplier Management (Launch Priority)

  • Supplier Sourcing & Vetting: Identify, evaluate, and qualify reliable local Egyptian suppliers for all core ingredients (fresh produce, coffee, dairy alternatives, etc.), consumables, and operating supplies in line with Joe & The Juice global standards.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, payment schedules, and supply agreements, securing cost-efficiency, quality assurance, and supply continuity in the local market.
  • Quality & Compliance: Work closely with the global Joe & The Juice quality team to ensure all locally sourced products meet the stringent international quality and food safety standards.
  • Import/Export: Manage the necessary import processes for any specialized or proprietary items that cannot be sourced locally, ensuring compliance with Egyptian customs and regulatory requirements.

Operational Management & Inventory Control (Daily Focus)

  • Inventory Ideals & Flow: Continuously monitor and update inventory ideals (par levels) for all bar managers. Ensure the correct flow of goods to bars, preventing stockouts while strictly minimizing excess stock and inventory holding costs.
  • Logistics Network: Design and implement the optimal inbound logistics, warehousing, and distribution network, specifically managing the cold chain for fresh ingredients.
  • Warehouse Oversight: Select and oversee third-party logistics (3PL) providers or manage internal warehousing, focusing on stock accuracy, efficient material handling, and minimizing spoilage.
  • Demand Forecasting: Collaborate with Operations and Finance to develop accurate demand forecasts based on the brand’s scaling plan and promotional activities to guide purchasing volumes.

Financial Control, Waste Management, and Back-End Systems

  • Waste Monitoring & Control: Act as the national responsible party for monitoring and aggressively minimizing operational waste. Generate and analyze weekly Waste and "Grey Area" reports.
  • Bar Manager Guidance: Address bar managers with waste problems, providing the right guidance and tools to maintain healthy waste control, a crucial purchasing KPI.
  • Invoice Validation (Admin/Back-End): Own the daily process of validating supplier invoices against received goods, purchase orders, and reported orders. Report all discrepancies to the supplier and the HQ Supply Chain team immediately to ensure correct invoicing.
  • System Alignment: Ensure the back-end inventory systems (ERP/WMS) are constantly up to date with correct product codes and prices so that all inventory counts, supplier orders, and financial audits can be easily and accurately validated.
